The problem with a table list
Plenty of systems represent your room as a list of table numbers. That works until a party moves, two tables push together, or a new server needs to know which section is theirs. A list forces every member of staff to hold the room in their head; a plan puts it on a screen.
What you can do
- Drag tables onto a grid to match the actual room, with shapes and covers per table
- See state at a glance: free, seated, ordered, food delivered, bill dropped
- Merge tables when a party grows and split them back afterwards
- Move an open order between tables without rebuilding it
- Assign sections so servers see their own tables first
- Track covers per service for reporting on what the room actually did
- Waitlist management (coming soon), for walk-ins on a full Friday
Frequently asked questions
- Can I change my floor plan after service has started?
- Yes. The plan is editable at any time and changes take effect immediately across every device.
- Does BMTable handle online bookings?
- BMTable manages the floor plan and covers. It is not a consumer reservations marketplace, so if you take online bookings you will run a booking tool alongside it.
- Can two servers work the same table?
- Yes. Orders belong to the table rather than to one server, so anyone with access can add to an open tab. Staff accounts are limited to one on the Free plan and three on Pro.
